We have The Beatles as a Pop Rock group and THE BEATLES as a cultural phenomenon. My son-in-law doesn't get all the hype, either, but if you live through an era of such change--music, culture--you can't forget what it means to defend something you love to almost everyone else. Not to mention, when what you defend claims to be more popular than a revered deity--or at least something to that effect--and the sons of Alabama, who defend racism but love their idea of a Confederate god, get you in their rifle sights, look out. I don't disagree with Steven, certainly about The Kinks being underrated. For me, loving the Beatles is like loving Faulkner or Joyce or Harper lee. In my blood. But I appreciate the honesty, for sure!
