Very thoughtful article. I wonder now: some of my best white male friends detest jazz. I know that not every genre is for every taste, but I'm not certain why these guys are entirely dismissive of an entire genre. So, while there are plenty of white jazz artists, I wonder if their disdain and dismissal is that they can't relate to an essentially black form of music. the same with Hip-Hop, or even Disco. Thanks for putting yourself out there, Mark!
