Though it isn't my favorite Neil album, it's likely the one I've listened to the most. I used to love everything about it and knew all the lyrics. But over time, a couple of the songs just haven't aged well for me. I bristle at how often when anyone wants to play a Neil song, they choose "Old Man." I don't know why this bugs me, but I suppose that it's just the way things go. A palatable song that waxes nostalgia from every pore and crevice. i much prefer Out on the Weekend and Harvest. Alabama and Words continue to be special favorites, the former because as Mark says, I'm from there and understand. I'm glad you love the record, and I'd write about why A Man Needs a Maid still kills me, but I'd be violating a confidence if I did. Some things you really do have to take to the grave!
