Such a great story, Lynn. As a writing teacher, I, too, have seen that experience, often telling students that they’ll be writing for 20 minutes or so. I keep to it the first couple of times, then expand the time in increments. They neither notice nor care, and much of the time, not only do they end happily, but they ask for more!
