I get this on a gut level, as Judaism is something I've chosen to dabble in; something that was denied me as a child, though my parents, who denied it, were making difficult choices themselves. I profoundly agree that being a good person, doing deeds for others because you want to--and they might need them--is the essence of our lives. So good to read and to hear, Noah.
