I didn’t know about the later tragedy, either. I hope she remains in prison for the rest of her life and cannot see any parole board granting her pardon. I teach at Presbyterian College, not so far from Union, and during the hunt for the alleged abductor, our campus was plastered with sketches of this supposed culprit. The fear was palpable. I remember being in the Greenville Barnes and Noble just after the boys went missing. I had my two young daughters with me. Another parent and I said at the time that we disbelieved Susan Smith, because we would have died before letting anyone drive off with our kids. I knew she was guilty then.

Very well written account, DeLani!
