I can remember sitting in my room at home playing the Neil Young album for the first time. That song, and “The Loner,” stuck out immediately. It’s easy for “Here We Are in the Years” to get lost in all the Neil tunes out there. So when I heard Tuscaloosa, I didn’t remember that he opened the show with that song. My memory is so good, but I was floored that I didn’t remember that first moment. No doubt I was too awestruck. What kills me about that concert record is that he left out “Cinnamon Girl,” his first electric song of the night, I think. He pulled out a white “flying V” guitar, and I thought I saw God! Thanks for reading, Joe!
