Eight Desert Island Songs a Week

And who knows which is which and…?

I don’t feel so good about myself, reducing everything to eight songs (along with that Collected Shakespeare and whatever copy of Ulysses I could grab because I won’t be taking a Bible for sure). I’ve been buying new vinyl like someone with an addiction (the someone being me), and so this reducing runs contrary to my impulse to buy more. I wasn’t going to the record store today, but they just called to tell me the copy of A Brigid St. John LP that I ordered Wednesday is in.

Thanks Steven Hale!

I know Paul Combs did his list:

and Anthony Overs did, too. I think Alex Markham started it, or at least he did here at Plethora of Pop, and so sure, I’ll play, despite the pain and despite the fact that I wouldn’t last a day in the heat and the sun. I hate coconut, and can tolerate bananas, but I’m not much for the tropical feel under the best of circumstances.

Still, I think I’d survive long enough to listen to these tunes again, at least once. How far I’d get in Ulysses
