As a native of Bessemer, AL, I know the Klan is real and has worked in front and behind the scenes within my lifetime. Have you read Dan Carter's new book on Asa Carter yet? It's on my stack to get to soon, but from what I've seen already, it shows even more clearly how deep and wide the Klan's reach was. Thank you for reviewing this book as I have wondered about whether to read it. And, the comparisons to the twice-impeached, once (so far) indicted former pres. are striking.
